Horse Thief -  Short Stories


Once a horse - thief was caught stealing. The owner of the horse said to the thief : I can give you severe punishment for theft , but you can escape from that punishment on one condition.

The thief said ; Please state your conditions , hope to comply.

Ghotkadhikari said to the thief : I will set you free if you teach me the art of horse stealing.

The thief happily agreed to this proposal and as usual concentrated on displaying the art of theft . First went to Ghotak, caressed him a little , patted him and said : The first stage work is over . I trust your horse. Now there is no possibility of kicking or jumping. Now see I untied the neck-rope — Now with skillful hands must quickly put on the bridle. By the way , see how easily I did that work. Now you have to ride the horse in a hurry with a little caution. Now step onto the horse's belly with both feet and whip the horse. The horse galloped away.

The thief said : This is how to steal a horse. However, keeping the owner of the horse in front of the horse is a different kind of fun. Thanks for making this memorable steal possible. 

The thief took the horse and disappeared with lightning speed. The owner chased with another horse but could not catch the thief.
